Jon Lee (General Manager / Consultant)

Loud, proud and passionate about all things ‘Tree’, Jon is a fully qualified Arboriculturist with a National Diploma in Arboriculture. He trained at Brinsbury and Plumpton Agricultural colleges, and spent 6 years working as a Tree Surgeon and Contracts Supervisor for Connick Tree Care before leaving to start up his own company in his local area.

Jon’s buzzwords are ‘customer service’, ‘quality’, ‘expertise’, ‘experience’, and ‘can-do’. He is very results focused and sets extremely high standards for himself, his staff and the quality of the work Arbworx produces. His larger than life personality means he has a great natural ability to bond with customers and suppliers alike.

An outdoors man his entire life Jon takes a keen interest in environmental conservation. His pet project is the Arbworx Tree Planting Scheme to help offset carbon emissions and he’ll happily chat for hours about the best way to care for the trees and plants in your garden.

Jon also developed the Arbworx trademark deck design using sustainable hardwoods and stainless steel. He loves experimenting with contrasting materials and coming up with new ways of working with timber, stone and other landscaping products.

Hobbies include outdoor sports, fishing and gardening and a fanatical devotion to NCIS…

Richard Hobbs (Landscape Technician)

Our youngest team member, Richard joins us fresh from the University of Falmouth where he gained an Honours Degree in Garden Design. Looking to build upon his practical landscaping skills and knowledge Richard aspires to utilise fresh design ideas to create unique garden spaces.

Nicknamed ‘Dude’ in tribute to his laidback manner and wild hairstyle he is an approachable and flexible member of the team and aims to learn from both his colleagues and clients alike. Professionally fairly new to the industry, at the beginning of his career, Richard is keen to progress in the design and build field.

Benjamin Biggs (Landscape Technician)

Our second graduate technician, Ben studied at the same university as Dude and also holds an Honours Degree in Garden Design.

With a level of enthusiasm verging on the obsessive, Ben is always full of fresh design ideas for our builds and has his heart set on one day winning a Gold at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Willy Peacock (Landscape Technician)

Known affectionately as ‘The Terrier’ we’ve never met anyone else who gets holes dug quicker, and Willy is an invaluable asset on all our works. When it comes to getting a straight hedge, Willy has a keen eye for detail and his clean ups are excellent.

He has been the mainstay of the organisation for many years and his attitude towards customer service and ‘let’s get it done’  furore have made him a unique personality within the company.

Sophia Lee-Spencer (Director)

Jon lives, eats, sleeps and breathes Arbworx and his wife, Sophia, long ago became used to being ‘the other woman’ in his life and often surprises herself with just how much she knows about tree surgery!

In between her own role as a Management Assistant for a well-known multinational she somehow finds the time to support the company in an administrative role, helping with the Marketing, HR, Finance and various other essential back office tasks.

Sosia (Team Mascot)

Undoubtedly the cutest member of our team, and Jon’s secret weapon, is Sosia the Spaniel.

Totally devoted to Jon and Sophia, Sosia follows Jon everywhere during the day, perching on his lap during breaks and overseeing work from the vantage point of the lorry’s driving seat.

With her adorably cuddly personality and penchant for tea and blackberries, some clients have been known to ask us back just to meet Sosia again… secret weapon you see!
